Mikayla Smith, a 2022 alumnus from The King’s Academy in West Palm Beach, launched ger jazz singing career at the school's 2022 Night of Jazz where she brought the house down with her rendition of I Ain’t Got Nothin’ but the Blues. Since then, Mikayla was selected as one of the top 40 vocalists from across the country to participate in the Songbook Academy. There, she ranked in the Top 8 vocalists and was showcased in the Finale.  Later that same year, she was named the Young Artist Award Winner 2022-2023 from The Society for the Preservation of the Great American Songbook.  Mikayla has also been recognized in Downbeat Magazine, an American music magazine,  and awarded a Student Music Award for the 46th Annual High School Outstanding Performance as a Vocal Jazz Soloist.  Mikayla has worked alongside jazz greats like Michael Feinstein, John Pizzarelli, Nicole Henry, and Wycliffe Gordon. Recently, she was featured alongside The Voice competitor, Wendy Moten. In 2025, she headlined her first solo show at the Jupiter Maltz Theatre to a sold out crowd! Mikayla's mission is to share musi and make a difference here and abroad. Mikayla is currently at Palm Beach Atlantic University studying Popular Music Industry and Business, yet serving communities through local ventures and international missions.
